Gathering professions

The way to make lots of gold on wow is through professions the best professions are mining, skinning and herbalism. Personally I prefer mining and skinning combination as there seem to me more demand for these items I don't suggest another profession until level 80 (you can power level) You will make more money this way and with the introduction of mounts at level 20 leveling is now quicker and easier than before.
